Data you give us directly

  • Name and email address when you create an account or purchase a course
  • Payment information — processed securely by Stripe. We never see or store your card details.
  • Communications you send us via email

  • IP address and approximate location
  • Browser type and device information
  • Pages visited and time spent on site (via analytics cookies if accepted)
  • Course progress and completion data within our learning platform (Thinkific)

3. How we use your data

  • To create and manage your student account
  • To deliver the courses you have purchased
  • To send you your certificate of completion
  • To send you updates about new courses and relevant content (you can unsubscribe at any time)
  • To improve our courses and website based on how they are used
  • To comply with legal obligations

We do not use your personal information to train any AI or large language model. We do not sell, rent or trade your data to third parties.

4. Third parties we share data with

We work with the following service providers who process data on our behalf:

  • Thinkific — course delivery and student management platform
  • Stripe — secure payment processing
  • Kit (ConvertKit) — email communications
  • Google Workspace — business email
  • Netlify — website hosting
  • Smartlead — outbound email outreach (prospective students only)

Each provider is bound by their own privacy policies and we only share the minimum data necessary for them to perform their service.

5. Cookies

We use cookies for:

  • Essential cookies — required for the site to function. These cannot be disabled.
  • Analytics cookies — help us understand how visitors use the site. Only set if you accept.

You can control non-essential cookies via the banner shown on your first visit or by clearing your browser cookies at any time.

6. Your rights

Depending on where you are located, you may have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you
  • Request correction of inaccurate data
  • Request deletion of your data
  • Opt out of marketing communications at any time
  • Request a copy of your data in a portable format

7. Data retention

We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will remove your personal data within 30 days except where we are required to retain it by law (e.g. financial records for tax purposes, which we retain for 7 years).

8. Security

We use industry-standard security measures including SSL/TLS encryption, PCI-compliant payment processing via Stripe, and access controls on all systems that hold personal data. No method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect your information.

9. Children

Our courses are designed for business professionals aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 18. If you believe we have collected data from a minor, contact us immediately at help@aiedgeacademy.net.

10. International transfers

AI Edge Academy operates from the United States. If you are accessing the site from the EU, UK or other regions, your data may be transferred to and processed in the United States, which may have different data protection laws. By using our services you consent to this transfer.

11. AI disclosure (CTDPA 2026 compliance)

In compliance with the Connecticut Data Privacy Act amendments effective July 2026: We do not collect, use or sell your personal information for the purpose of training large language models or any AI system. Any AI tools used in our internal operations do not process student personal data.

12. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the “Last updated” date at the top of this page and notify active students by email if changes are material. We recommend reviewing this page periodically.
